Abstract

1459791 Trawl bobbins G WEBSTER 2 April 1974 [7 April 1973] 16813/73 Heading A1A A bobbin for the ground rope of a trawl net has an annular synclastic tread portion 1 and anticlastic side walls 2 smoothly emerging together around a shoulder 3 defining an inflexion when seen in cross section. The lateral radius RT of the tread portion is finite and greater than the rolling radius RB of the bobbin. The bobbin may: have a central shaft, which may be moulded therein and be provided with means for connection to adjacent bobbins; be moulded of rubber or like material; be solid or hollow and be moulded in halves attached to one another. The shaft may be solid or tubular. For Figure see next column
