Abstract

1459341 Voice modification apparatus DEFENCE SECRETARY OF STATE FOR 14 Jan 1975 [29 Jan 1974] 04171/74 HeadingH4R Voice modification apparatus includes distorting means to introduce any one of a number of different modes of distortion into an electrical signal, a noise generator to introduce any one of a number of predetermined levels of noise into the signal and a switch to select a number of different combinations of distortion mode, noise level, and gain or attenuation into the signal. In one embodiment, Fig. 1, the switches 3a, 3b, switch in different combinations of octave band pass filters 4a, 4b, 4c, 4d into the signal path, the filters being centred on 500 Hz, 1 kHz, 2 kHz and 4 kHz respectively, switch 3c introduces different levels of noise from a noise generator 6 and switch 3d introduced different degrees of attenuation into the signal path. The switches 3a, 3b, 3c, and 3d are ganged together. A further switch 9a, 9b can be operated to bypass the modification apparatus and switch off the power supply thereto. In an alternative form, Fig. 2 (not shown) the filters are replaced by a frequence doubler, a clipper, and a low pass filter.
