1458727 Magnetic games MIRARE AB 1 July 1974 [2 July 1973] 29057/74 Heading A6H A game apparatus for football or pursuit games comprises a playing surface 2, a magnetic playing piece 6 and two rods 7, 9, Fig. 2, carrying magnets for manipulating the piece from below the surface, there being two spaces 10, 11 to admit the rods beneath the surface, the spaces being separated by a non- magnetic sheet 11a, e.g. cardboard. Two playing pieces 6, 8 and the rods 7, 9 are magnetised as shown in Fig. 2 so that one piece may be moved to catch another around an obstacle (4). Any arrangement of poles may however be employed and any relative sizes of magnets. A DC source may provide the magnetism. In a modification, the movable pieces are players 6, Fig. 3, and a flattened football 31. Further spaces may be added to provide for rods for operating goalkeepers and outfield players. Some players may have stronger magnets than others. Two or more rods may occupy one space. Obstacles (51, Fig. 5), such as tapes, may be placed on the playing surface. The board may be constructed as shown in Fig. 6. A player may carry a mallet which is pivoted to be moved by one rod, the player being moved by another rod. A rack may be mounted in a rod to rotate a gear carrying the magnet.
