Abstract

1458624 Clocks JUNGHANS GmbH Gebr 22 May 1974 [1 June 1973] 22950/74 Heading G3T A housing and frame assembly for a battery clock comprises a plastics housing 1 and plates 2, 3 which are held in mutually spaced relationship by a first arrangement of posts which project from at least one of the three frame elements and by a second arrangement of posts which combine a spacing function with preventing relative rotation of the elements, a single fastening means being used to secure the frame elements together. As shown the first posts 1a, 2a project rearwards from the housing 1 and front plate 2 respectively, the spacing of these elements being fixed by the abutment of the post end 1a" against the inner end surface 2a" of the post 2a. A screw 5 passes through the rear plate 3 and a bore 2a' into the post 1a to secure the assembly. The plate 3 is a printed circuit board and carries a coil 3a to drive a balance 4. To prevent relative rotation, a second post 1b is located in a second hollow post 2b and a peg 2b' on the end of that post in an aperture in the plate 3. A shoulder 1b' engages the plate 2 for spacing, and further spacing posts lc, 2c are provided. The posts are moulded of plastics integrally with the plates and housing. Other arrangements are described in which the posts are on the front plate only Fig. 4 (not shown) or on the rear plate and another frame element.
