Abstract

1457323 Typewriters TRIUMPH WERKE NURNBERG AG 27 Feb 1974 [2 March 1973] 8983/74 Heading B6F A key input to a typewriter comprises keylevers 2 associated with control members 10 which when actuated release drive levers 17, to permit a respective drive lever to coact with a constantly rotated drive roll 27 whereby the drive lever is displaced to displace a respective combination of setting rockers 20. Depression of a keylever 2 pivots its associated control member 10 about axis 11 whereby a projection 16 on the respective drive lever 17 is released from a holding recess 15 to permit a spring 25 to pivot the lever 17 so that a cam 26 thereon contacts the drive roll 27. A flat 28 on the cam loosely detents the cam in its rest position shown. On powered displacement of the lever 17, a respective combination of setting rockers 20 and a further rocker 31 are displaced. The rocker 31 pivots a blocking bail 33 which prevents other drive levers from being actuated. If the key lever is depressed only so far that a projection 34 thereon strikes a stop 35, repeat power action is prevented since the tripping pawl 5 on the keylever is out of alignment with the projection 8 on the control member when the control member returns. However on further depression of the keylever, rocking the rail 36 carrying the stop 35, against the action of a spring 37, a projection 9 on the control lever 10 becomes operative and repeat action occurs. Under the latter circumstances, a bail 40 is displaced to act as an additional interlock.
