Abstract

1456782 Hair-dressing appliances BRAUN AG 15 Feb 1974 [17 Feb 1973] 6891/74 Heading A5R A hair-dressing appliance comprises a fan drum 5, Fig. 3, actuated (by a motor 3, and a heater 4 in a platics housing having parts 1, 2, 12, Fig. 4, and a discharge vent k in part 12, which part is formed as a grille and contains grooves 23, 24 for receiving brushes or combs (not shown) over said vent, the heater being mounted on a plate 27 held by part 2 of the housing to lie in a plane which extends parallel to part 1 and intersects, in the peripheral region of the fan drum remote from the heater, a second plane containing the axis of said drum and passing approximately through the centre of said vent. The fan drum, the heater, and the vent are elongated in the direction of the fan drum, axis, the parts 1, 2 of 'the housing converging to the vent. The fan drum contains a plurality of thinwalled blades (74) Fig 10, (not shown), each having a unifom lateral curvature and a rib (62) extending lengthwise thereof. A barrier wall (not shown) may extend from housing part 2 to the plate 27, at rightangles thereto, at that edge of said plate nearer the fan drum. The electrical energy for driving the motor is taken from the heater circuit, the wire 28 of which is tapped. The supply leads 34, 35 for the motor may have sockets which can be fitted onto the tapped heater wire, the plate 27 being formed as a printed circuit board.
