Abstract

1456455 Cigarette lighters MANSEI KOGYO KK 28 Oct 1974 [14 Nov 1973 20 May 1974] 46621/74 Heading F4F A battery-powered gas-fuelled cigarette lighter is provided with a cap 16 which is controlled by a spring-loaded piston and cylinder arrangement 28 which arrangement also controls the burner valve 4 and a manually-operable switch such that an ignition circuit can only be energized to provide sparks for a spark gap when the cap is in the open position. In the first embodiment (Fig. 1) the cap controls an auxiliary switch 7, 15a which is in series with the manually-operable switch 23. In the second embodiment (Fig. 5) the cap controls the position of the manuallyoperable switch 112 so that it protrudes outside the casing of the lighter only when the cap is open.
