Abstract

1455706 Polyurethane-forming compositions NISI 12 Dec 1973 [12 Dec 1972] 57687/73 Heading C3R Polyurethane-forming compositions, suitable for use as floor-coverings comprise 20 to 30% by weight of a polyol, from 10 to 30% by weight of a polyisocyanate, from 50 to 60% by weight of a filler, at least 40% of which has a particle size of 100 to 200 microns, from 2 to 5% of a levelling agent and 5 to 8% by weight of a paste constituted by a mixture of a dehydrating agent and a dehydrated oil containing groups which react with isocyanate groups. The composition is prepared preferably by first mixing all the components other than the polyisocyanate which component is added subsequently. In an example a mixture is obtained from a polyester polyol, paraffin oil, a paste of zeolite in castor oil, gypsum, and quartzite sand and to this mixture is added diphenylmethane-4,41-diisocyanate.
