Abstract

1455535 Labels BOWTHORPE HELLERMANN Ltd 30 Jan 1975 4197/75 Heading B8F [Also in Division H1] A thermally recoverable sleeve is heated above its crystalline melting point, stretched and cooled while stretched, so as to recover its original form on heating. A portion of the sleeve between 5a, 5b adjacent identification markings 4 is stretched less than the remainder either because it was thicker in the prestressed state, as shown, or due to local cooling during the stretching operation. Due to the lesser deformation it is said the identification remains legible in the sleeve's stretched state. Sleeves may be provided with interlocking means whereby rotation between adjacent sleeves is prevented.
