Abstract
1455530 Optical glass CORNING GLASS WORKS 23 April 1975 16795/75 Heading C1M An optical glass with a refractive index >1À64 and a dispersive index #53 consists of: wherein M<SP>++</SP> may be Ca, Pb or Zn, and has a mole ratio (BaO+M<SP>++</SP>O) SiO 2 #0À6. Minor amounts of fining agents (e.g. oxides of Sb, As and Na or alkali metal halides) may be tolerated in the glass and small amounts of CeO 2 may be substituted for part of the La 2 O 3 to provide a desired U.V. cut-off. The La 2 O 3 may be added to the batch as La 2 (CO 3 ) 3 .
