Abstract

1455388 Conveyers / wrapping machines HAUNI-WERKE KORBER & CO KG 20 March 1974 [28 March 1973] 12394/74 Headings B8A and B8C A rotary conveyer 1 has a number of circumferentially equally spaced holders 2 for receiving cigarettes and wrappers at a station 8 and transferring them to a discharge station 14, and is indexed in steps greater than and an integral multiple of the spacing of the holders, the distance between the stations 8 and 14, as measured along the feed path, being greater than and a non-integral multiple of the length of a feed step of the conveyer. In this way the cigarettes and wrappers remain on the conveyer for more than one revolution thereof. As shown, the conveyer receives cigarettes and wrappers, open at one end, from hollow mandrels 7 of a turret 6 and passes them to the holders 19 on the turret 21 of a tab-applying machine. At stations 24, 26 the open ends of the wrappers are closed. The folding members for closing the wrappers may be pivotal or reciprocate on a bar.
