1455087 Selective printing SIEMENS AG 31 Jan 1974 [31 Jan 1973] 04663/74 Heading B6F [Also in Division G4] A recording device can record 7-segment alphanumeric charaters using a series of 5-segment markers while a strip of recording medium is moving across the series, the second and fourth markers being longer (in the direction of the series) than the others. On reception of a start pulse 34, a BCD coder 21 supplies a character signal, which is converted to 7-segment form at 22, to gate at 23-29 pulses of suitable duration and position from monostables 30-33, to actuate solenoids 10-14 controlling segment markers 4, 5, 6, 7, 8 of the widths shown, to produce the character in 7-segment form on a moving thermosensitive paper strip 2. A measurement trace can also be recorded in another track.
