Abstract

1454899 Dyeing compositions IMPERIAL CHEMICAL INDUSTRIES Ltd 26 June 1974 [23 July 1973] 34903/73 Heading C3F [Also in Division D1] Inks for use in dyeing comprise water-inoil emulsions, the oil phase comprising a solution of a binder in a water-insoluble organic liquid and either the water phase or the organic phase containing at least one disperse dyestuff. Optionally the water phase also contains a binder in solution. Disclosed binders are ethyl hydroxyethyl cellulose and ethyl cellulose for use in the oil phase and polyvinyl alcohol and sodium carboxymethyl cellulose in the aqueous phase. Organic solvents used are xylene and a mixture of isopropanol and petroleum ether. Dyestuffs used are 2-hydroxy-5-methyl-4<SP>1</SP>- acetylaminoazobenzene and Dispersol Fast Yellow A (C.I. 10345).
