1453802 Mining machines COAL INDUSTRY (PATENTS) Ltd 18 April 1975 [9 May 1974] 20514/74 Heading E1F In a drum shearer mining machine, the machine body 12 is mounted on a base 18 which is movable laterally with respect to the underframe 20. In one embodiment the body 12, carrying a single cutting drum, is moved laterally by the pivoting of the base 18 about pivot pin 22 by means of hydraulic rams 26. In a second embodiment the body 12, carrying a cutting drum at each end, is moved laterally on guideways by means of two pairs of hydraulic rams 26.
