Abstract

1453496 Communication systems INTERNATIONAL STANDARD ELECTRIC CORP 7 Nov 1974 [12 Nov 1973] 48141/74 Heading H4K A looped communication system having access via a control unit to exchange lines is provided with a separate TDM signalling bus over which dialling signals, subset interrogation signals and subset control signals are transmitted. The control unit translates internal dialling signals into a format acceptable to the exchanges connected to the lines. Each station SP is allotted a time slot during a first part of which its address is transmitted by the control unit Z, S over bus SW. The condition of each button (i.e. internal calling button, exchange line request button and external key dialling buttons) is transferred via SW to the control during an intermediate portion of the allotted time slot. During a final part of the slot control signals such as crosspoint enable signals are sent via SW so as to connect the substation to an internal line or to an exchange line AL as appropriate
