Abstract

1452836 Windscreen wipers ANDERSON CO 9 Jan 1974 [1 Feb 1973] 01096/74 Heading A4F A windscreen wiper assembly comprises a backing member 28, e.g. of plastics material having laterally open slots 50 for receiving claws 26 of a superstructure and an internal chamber receiving a retaining portion 42 of a wiper element 30, and a U-shaped resilient clip 60 for holding the backing member 28 assembly with the superstructure. The legs 63, 64 of the clip are each formed with a notch 65 to embrace a claw 26 and prevent relative longitudinal movement of the superstructure and the clip. Flanges 48 on the backing member 28 engage in grooves 67 in the legs 63, 64, to retain the clip 60 on the member 28, and a projection 70 on the leg 63 interlocks with the member 28 to prevent relative longitudinal movement of the clip 60 and member 28.
