Abstract

1452451 Making spring rings H WESSEL 8 Jan 1975 [27 March 1974] 732/75 Heading B3A [Also in Division F2] A spring ring 3, for use in a pipe connection in which the ring engages in registering annular grooves 6 of two telescoped pipe sections 1, 2 to locate them longitudinally while allowing relative rotation therebetween, is formed from circular section spring wire bent to a ring shape and flattened in the axial direction of the ring, by rolling or pressing, to produce axially facing flats 5. This flattening is arranged to increase the diameter of the ring by about 8%.
