Abstract
1452103 Electrode plate connections CHLORIDE ALCAD Ltd 4 July 1974 [6 July 1973] 32348/73 Heading H1B Electrodes 10, e.g. of an alkaline storage battery, each have a metal support frame 11, a side member of which is extended and twisted through 90 degrees to form a lug 13 which is spot-welded to a metal bridge 20 having a terminal pole 23 welded or rivetted thereto. Fig. 2 shows the electrodes 10 of one polarity, the electrodes of the other polarity interleaving with the first-mentioned electrodes and being spot-welded to another similar bridge Fig. 1 (not shown). As shown, the electrodes are of the perforated metal pocket type but, alternatively, they may be of the sintered type and have a metal reinforcing grid provided with a lug corresponding to the lug 13.
