Abstract

1451626 Antiserum MILES-YEDA Ltd 25 Oct 1973 [25 Oct 1972] 49855/73 Heading A5B [Also in Divisions C2. C3 and G1] An antiserum specific against a steroid of formula wherein X is oxo. (H,OH), (H,COCH 3 ). (α-OH, #-COCH 3 ) or (α-H.#-OCOCH 3 ): Y is H or OH: and Z is H or halo; is prepared by injecting a mamal (e.g. rabbit) with a steroid-protein conjugate wherein the protein is one which has 8-30 lysine residues (e.g. bovine serum albumin) at least one of which is bound to the steroid by a peptide linkage derived from the carboxyl group of the steroid which is of formula wherein n is 1 or 2, and R is H: and recovering the antiserum produced.
