Abstract
1451245 Looms ROCKWELL INTERNATIONAL CORP 27 Aug 1974 [23 Oct 1973] 37401/74 Heading D1E A shuttleless loom with separate coupled dobbies for shedding and weft selection has means to disconnect the common driving means in order to operate both dobbies simultaneously by hand. A dobby drive shaft 26 has a freely rotatable sprocket 31 connected by a dog clutch to an axially slidable gear 40 splined to the shaft 26. The sprocket 31 is driven from the loom and when coupled to the gear 40 (Fig. 2) drives the shaft 26 and thus the shedding dobby by way of a sprocket 31 and the weft selection dobby by way of a sprocket 33. To disconnect the loom drive a hand wheel 51 is moved to axially move the gear 40 to disengage the dog clutch and to engage the gear 40 with a gear 56 rotated by the handwheel 51. A baulk plate 45 is provided so that the drive may be disconnected only at a desired position.
