1450776 Determining gas concentrations electrically ELECTRICAL REMOTE CONTROL CO Ltd 19 March 1974 [20 March 1973] 13455/73 Heading G1N The concentration of a flammable gas e.g. methane is measured in a Wheatstone bridge network comprising a catalytic resistor heated by the burning of the test gas as one arm, a reference resistor as the adjacent arm and two fixed resistors in the other branch, the bridge being fed by a zincair cell. The current fed to the bridge is thus a measure of the oxygen content in the ambient atmosphere, and the imbalance current of the bridge is a measure of the methane content in the ambient atmosphere.
