Abstract
1450737 Arc electrodes S SUGA 8 April 1974 15496/74 Heading H1X An electrode for an arc lamp comprises a carbon electrode bar coated with Al or an Al alloy 1 on its surface except for a discharge tip. A further coating 3 of aluminium oxide or silicon oxide may be provided over the surface except for the discharge tip and an electrode holding section 2. The carbon bar may be either cored or non-cored. The electrode is intended for an arc lamp for use in fading or weathering tests. The construction reduces the cabon consumption.
