1450730 Sealing coke oven doors COAL INDUSTRY (PATENTS) Ltd 11 Feb 1975 [15 Feb 1974] 6989/74 Heading C5E [Also in Division F2] In a sealing strip, e.g. for a coke oven door, a reinforced cone 3 of powder or fibre material is enclosed in an elastomeric cover 1. The core 3 may be of powdered asbestos reinforced with strands 4 of metal or asbestos and the cover 3 may be of neoprene protected by a steel mesh 5. In another form, a core (9, Fig. 2, not shown) of loose asbestos fibres is reinforced with woven asbestos 8.
