1450040 Measuring angular displacement electrically SIMMS GROUP RESEARCH & DEVELOPMENT Ltd 29 Nov 1973 [23 Dec 1972] 59588/72 Heading GIN A position transducer 10 includes an input member in the form of a sleeve 21 and rotor 20 angularly displaceable with respect to the transducer body 16 which carries signal generating components in the form of a core structure 17 with windings 18 and 19, coupling between which is influenced by rotor angular movement; the transducer further including an input shaft 14 with an extension 15 in which is disposed a slot 23 of D- shaped plan housing a pin 22 by which the sleeve is retained on the input shaft, the pin extending outwardly of the sleeve for co-operation with a stop 24 on the casing whereby angular movement of the rotor is halted and continued rotation of the input shaft 14, 15 serves to tension further a pre-tensioned spring 25 having one end secured to the shaft and the other to the sleeve. Thus once the rotor is halted the transducer provides a constant output signal indicating that the shaft is beyond a given angular displacement.
