Abstract

1449465 Valves REED INTERNATIONAL Ltd 15 Feb 1974 [22 Feb 1973] 8746/73 Heading F2V A valve comprises a two-part body 1, 2 held together by a bracket 6 and a closure member 10 integral with an actuating sleeve 13 which sealingly engages both body parts and screw-threadedly engages one of the body parts providing the actuation mechanism. An adjustable stop 18 is provided on the sleeve 13. The valve member is supported from the sleeve by three webs and the integral structure, as well as the body parts are moulded in plastics material. In a second embodiment, the sleeve screwthreadedly engages both body parts, one of them internally. In this embodiment the sealing surface of the closure member and the corresponding seat are plane closure surfaces and the closure member is loosely located in a spigot which is integral with the actuating sleeve.
