Abstract
1449243 Semiconductor time delay circuits CANADIAN GENERAL ELECTRIC CO Ltd 7 Sept 1973 42287/73 Heading H3T A time delay switch Fig. 4 in which a capacitor 13 is charged by an F.E.T. 18 has the obtainable delay increased by using pulses to charge the capacitor. A variable width and for frequency pulse generator 19 controls the F.E.T. 18. The pulse generator 19 operates F.E.T. 18 to correct constant current source T25 (or constant voltage source, R45 Fig. 5 not shown) intermittently to C13. Optional switch 44, operated also by the pulses from 19, is indicated to isolate C13 from unijunction 27 emitter E to reduce leakage during long time delays. When C13 is charged high enough to break down UJT 27, arm SCR 32 is fired to operate solenoid 30. The SCR is turned off at the end of a desired control function by manual switch 33, and this also turns on a switch 41 to complete the discharge of C13.
