Abstract

1448923 Lacrosse stick W T BURNETT & CO INC 16 May 1974 [3 Dec 1973] 21783/74 Heading A6D A head for a lacrosse stick has for its webbing 13 an expandable pre-formed mesh e.g. knitted construction, the mesh being stretched more laterally near an end wall 16 than near a transverse stop 18, near the stop being able to expand further laterally in forming a ballpocket. The mesh is secured by cords 23, (27) and 32 and reinforced by cords 41 and 42. It may be manufactured in closed form in a continuous strip which is cut to length, Fig. 3, and stretched before fitting; a high strength synthetic fibre may be used for the mesh. Binding 32 may be extruded or woven cording; bindings 23 and (27) may be leather. The frame (11) may be constructed in accordance with that of the lacrosse stick of Specification 1242081 and may consequently be of an elastomeric material.
