Abstract

1448675 Illuminated signs THORN ELECTRICAL INDUSTRIES Ltd 4 April 1974 [4 Jan 1973] 615/73 Heading G5C A vehicle number plate assembly includes the number plate 12 bearing raised numbers 16, a light source 11, and an enclosure 10 having an inclined window 20 through which plate 12 is viewed, and upper windows 21, 22 adjacent source 11 and directing light respectively away from and towards the vehicle body. Window 21 has a faceted inner surface 25, and window 20 may have a part-silvered surface 23 to reflect light from the source back on to the plate 12. The assembly is mounted by screwing, riveting or welding back-plate 17 to the vehicle.
