Abstract
1448626 Hysteroscope RICHARD WOLF GmbH 11 April 1974 [13 April 1973] 16400/74 Heading A5R A hysteroscope suitable for use with a cervical adaptor 2 comprises a barrel 3 for receiving a viewing system 6 and having an inlet passage 5 for feeding insufflation gas into the barrel, for spreading apart the walls of the uterus 1, and means for holding the uterine walls in their spread apart condition when the introduction of insufflation gas is discontinued, this spreading means including a plurality of spreader arms 8 which are biased away from each other and which are carried on an annular member 11 which is axially slidable in the barrel between a retracted position in which the arms are displaced towards each other by the distal end of the barrel and a spread-out position in which the arms, having been freed from the restraint of the distal end of the barrel are displaced away from each other and contact the uterine walls. An inlet 4 for a probe may be provided. The spreader arms 8 may be in the form of closed loops.
