Abstract
1448595 Self-locking nuts VUMA VYSKUMNY USTAV MECHANIZACIE AAUTOMATIZACIE 5 Nov 1973 [15 Nov 1972] 51329/73 Heading F2H In a nut having self-locking threads the threads 16 are arranged in segmental rows longitudinally of the metal nuts 10 and one or more of the threads 17 in a segment has a different configuration to the threads 16 of the rest of the nut to effect locking engagement with the threads of the co-operating threaded member. The thread segment 17 may have shallow roots 18 on each side, Fig. 3, differently inclined flanks, Fig. 4, a crest extending radially nearer the nut axis, Fig. 5 (not shown), or may be axially displaced relative to adjacent segments, Fig. 6 (not shown). The outer surface of the nut may be hexagonal or of other shape, Fig. 9 (not shown) and may be provided with a bearing face at one end and closed at the other, Figs. 7 and 8 (not shown) or may be open ended.
