1447746 Dispensing liquid H PEDERSEN 31 Jan 1975 4425/75 Heading A4T [Also in Division G4] A coin controlled apparatus for dispensing a fluid comprises a guideway 3 into which a coin can be inserted, a spring-loaded actuating plunger 5 for pressing a coin thus inserted between first and second spring-loaded slides 8, 9 thereby to displace slide 8 into an actuating position in which the coin 7 is gripped between the slides, a cylinder 19 divided by a piston 20 into a fluid receiving chamber and a compression chamber 21, means, finger 12, actuated by slide 8 for delivering compressed air, via valve 13, to pump 15 which pumps fluid from reservoir 16 through non-return valve 18 into the fluid receiving chamber to displace the piston, means, valve 13, for delivering compressed air into chamber 21 at a pressure lower than the pump delivery pressure, means, rod 23, for displacing slide 9, against spring 24, and thus releasing coin 7 when a predetermined volume of fluid has been pumped into cylinder 19, to displace piston 20 by a predetermined amount, the coin drops into coin box 25 and slide 8 returns to its start position thus stopping the compressed air delivery a code valve 28 controls delivery of fluid from the cylinder, the valve is opened by stud 26 when the piston is displaced by said predetermined amount whereby the compressed air in the compression space 21 can return the piston 20 to its initial position, the code valve being closed by stud 30 when the piston reaches its initial position. A pressure reducing valve 22 is in the line delivering compressed air from the source to the compression space.
