Abstract

1447738 Guanazyl compounds and salts MINNESOTA MINING & MFG CO 9 May 1974 [10 May 1973] 20625/74 Heading C4P [Also in Division G2] Compounds of the formulµ where R is aryl, R<SP>1</SP> is aryl or heterocyclyl, R<SP>2</SP> is H or alkyl and X is an anion, are made by diazotizing an amine R-NH 2 and coupling with an aldehyde guanylhydrazone and then if desired quaternizing with a compound R<SP>2</SP>X. In examples, compounds are made where R is phenyl, p-tolyl, p-chlorophenyl, mnitrophenyl or m-trifluoromethyl-phenyl, R<SP>1</SP> is phenyl, p-tolyl, o-chlorophenyl, p-nitrophenyl or γ-pyridyl, R<SP>2</SP> is H or methyl and X is Cl, I or picrate.
