Abstract

1447565 Alkylation catalyst TEXACO DEVELOPMENT CORP 6 Feb 1974 [21 March 1973] 05560/74 Heading B1E [Also in Division C5] An alkylation catalyst comprises a solution of carbon dioxide in liquid string acid in a wt. ratio CO 2 /acid of at least 0.1/100, wherein the liquid strong acid is sulphuric acid, fluorosulphonic acid or mixtures thereof. The catalyst solution is formed by contacting the acid and carbon monoxide at 0-100‹F and superatmospheric pressure. The Examples relate to suplhuric acid solutions.
