Abstract

1447545 Copper alloy INSTITUT PRUFFELD FUR ELEKTRISCHE HOCHLEISTUNGSTECHNIK 7 Sept 1973 [26 Oct 1972] 42310/73 Heading C7A A copper based alloy contains Mg 0À4-20 Sb 0À4-35 Cu Bal plus impurities and has a hardness of 93-276 kp/mu<SP>2</SP> and an electrical conductivity of 4À9-7À7 m/Ohm mu<SP>2</SP>, and is suitable for a contact material in vaccum switches and spark gap applications, having a high electrical conductivity, good mechanical strength and resistance to electrical welding, and good dielectric strength. The alloy can be made by normal casting techniques or by powder metallurgical processes or by infiltration into metallic or non metallic skeletons for use as a contact material.
