Abstract
1447450 Drying gases BAYER AG 10 Oct 1974 [17 Oct 1973] 43871/74 Heading BIL Gases are dried by contact at 35-80C with finely divided 95-99% sulphuric acid having a surface of 10<SP>4</SP>-10<SP>7</SP> m<SP>2</SP>/h for 0.2-2 seconds under such conditions that the concentration reduction of the acid is not more than 3%. The gas may be air or an SO 2 -containing gas and may be passed as a stream having a velocity of 5-30 m/sec through a spray of the acid.
