Abstract

1446913 Assembling circuit boards INTERNATIONAL STANDARD ELECTRIC CORP 24 Aug 1973 [28 Aug 1972] 40199/73 Heading H1R A pair of lamellar circuit elements, which are basically sheet-like, such as printed circuit boards, but which may include a discrete component such as a coil, filter or amplifier, wherein at least one of the circuit elements is a printed circuit board, are assembled together perpendicular to one another by interlocking slots and flaps in the respective elements, by providing a slot g in one element a and "punching-up" a raised portion c in the surface of a flap of the other element b, and assembling the elements together such that the raised portion c snaps into position within the slot g to be located firmly thereby. As shown, two printed circuit boards are assembled perpendicular to each other and the width f of the slot g in board a is greater than the general width h of the board b, and the raised portion c in board b is formed by "punching-up" the opposite surface of the board. Conductive copper coatings e on one or both sides of the boards a, b may be connected together by solder f.
