1446908 Pipe joint AUTOMOTIVE PRODUCTS Ltd 11 Dec 1974 [27 Dec 1973] 59740/73 Heading F2G In a fluid tight coupling assembly, insertion of a tubular member 24 into a bore of a second member 10 to compress a flexible, resilient sealing ring 22 is limited by the provision of an abutment corrugation 28 formed in the wall of the tubular member. As shown, flexible ring 22 housed within a recess of gear box inlet bore 12 is radially compressed by the insertion of fluid pipe 24 to form a fluid-tight seal between the pipe and inlet. During assembly, insertion of the pipe is facilitated by the taper 26 on the leading tube end, and limited by the abutment of corrugation 28 against the flexible ring.
