Abstract

1446496 Ice cream machines APAW SA 4 April 1974 [4 April 1973 29 Oct 1973] 15000/74 Heading F4H An ice cream making machine comprises a cylindrical horizontal freezing chamber 1 provided with a rotatable mixer, the chamber 1 communicating at one end with an ice cream dispensing device, and a liquid mix feed device in the form of a removable container 9 surrounded and supported by a refrigeration coil unit 8. As shown, the container 9 includes a downwardly extending conduit 11 screw-fitted to the container at 109. In other embodiments, the conduit 11 includes a funnel-shaped end element having a resilient rim engaging in liquid tight manner the bottom of the container. The conduit 11 extends down into a trap 7 formed in a vertical duct 2 at the opposite end of the chamber 1 to the dispensing device. The trap 7 includes a frusto-conical seating 6. In operation of the machine, the liquid mix flows from the container 9 into the chamber 1 until the lever of the liquid rises up to the free end of the pipe 11 in the trap 7. At this point the flow of liquid is stopped by the liquid present in the trap 7. Whenever ice cream is dispensed from the chamber 1, automatically a corresponding amount of liquid mix is fed from the container 9 into the chamber 1.
