Abstract

1446024 Repertory diallers STANDARD TELEPHONES & CABLES Ltd 23 May 1974 [5 June 1973] 26667/73 Heading H4K The digit entering means of a repertory dialler having storage locations for a number of telephone numbers includes a pause key which is pressed to indicate positions in a multidigit number at which further dial tone will be received when the digits are transmitted. Telephone numbers are stored in binary coded decimal form with a binary code being allocated to the "pause" feature, when a stored number is being transmitted detection of a stored "pause" code causes the transmitter to stop. It subsequently recommences operation automatically, under the control of a dial tone detector.
