Abstract
1445911 Thiadiazolylhydantoins BAYER AG 11 Jan 1974 [13 Jan 1973] 01372/74 Heading C2C The invention comprises compounds (I) where R is alkyl, haloalkyl, alkylmercapto or alkylsulphonyl; R<SP>1</SP> is alkyl; and R<SP>2</SP> is alkylcarbonyl, alkoxycarbonyl, alkylcarbamoyl or optionally substituted arylcarbonyl; their preparation by reacting a compound (II) with a halide R<SP>3</SP>COHal, where R<SP>3</SP> is alkyl or alkoxy and Hal is halogen; an iso-cyanate R<SP>4</SP>-N=C=O, where R<SP>4</SP> is alkyl or a carboxylic anhydride R<SP>4</SP>CO.O.COR<SP>4</SP>; a herbicidal composition comprising the compounds (I) and a suitable diluent ; and a method of combating weeds by applying a compound (I), alone or as a composition, to the weeds or their habitat.
