In one embodiment,. Fig. 2, lug 14 of a clamping dog 5 is inserted or withdrawn from one of several notches 16 in guide rail 3a by means of a crank-shaft 8 carrying a erankpin 9. The clamping dog 5 has an upward bend 13, Fig. 1, which develops a gripping force upon theunderside of flange 1I of the guide rail 3a. Fig. 3 shows a clamping dog 17, shaped from spring steel strip, pivotally mounted in an aperture 18 in a holder 19 secured to the roof lid 4. Another embodiment, Fig. 6, shows a clamping and catch yoke 30. made from bent spring steel wire, which is mounted on a slide piece 2 by means of a threaded pin 1. Each slide piece 2 supports the lid in relation to guide rails 3c. The embodiment of Fig. 8 shows a ratchet type catch comprising a clamping and. locking dog 37 swivel mounted on a pin 38 secured to lid 4. One end of the dog 37 has. a contact face 39 which is engaged by the pin 9 of crank-shaft 8. In a further embodiment, Fig. 9, a catch yoke 45 comprising two hooked arms 47 welded on the crank-shaft 8, is pressed against the underside of guide rail 3e by rotation of the crank-shaft 8, which rotation also presses levers- 49 against the frame member to raise the roof panel.
