Abstract

1445731 Peristatic pumps L SUMNER 15 July 1974 [20 June 1973] 29210/73 Heading F1F A pump comprises a flexible tube 12 arranged in a loop in a cylindrical bore of a housing and an annular member 15 which is driven in a rolling planetary path to squeeze the tube 12. The inlet and outlet ends of the tube 12 pass through apertures 18, 19 in the housing and are inserted into these in a flattened condition by way of slots 20 which may extend radially or tangentially to the looped tube. Clamps 21 prevent the tube from moving around with the annular member. The tube may consist of a silicone material and the internal surface of the housing and external surface of the member 15 of P.T.F.E. More than one aperture 18 or 19 may be provided in the housing to cater for different tube sizes and grooves may be formed in the apertures to grip the tubes. Reference has been directed by the Comptroller to Specification 1266492.
