1445137 Chromatography CESKOSLOVENSKA AKADEMIE VED 24 Aug 1973 [30 Aug 1972] 40272/73 Heading B1H [Also in Division C3] A chromatographic process uses as sorbent a gel obtained by precipitation copolymerisation of (a) a hydroxyalkyl (meth)acrylate an oligo- or poly-ethylene glycol methacrylate, or (meth) acrylonitrile and (b) a multi-unsaturated comonomer and subseduently modified to alter the polarity of the gel. Examples relate to the use of cross-linked hydroxyethyl methacrylate polymer modified by reaction with stearyl chloride, trimethylchlorosilane, ethylenechlorhydrin or acrylonitrile for liquid or gas chromatography of mixtures of glycerides or hydrocarbons.
