1445035 Beam axle suspension DAIMLERBENZ AG 28 Jan 1974 [3 Feb 1973] 03769/74 Heading B7D In a vehicle suspension comprising leaf springs 4 secured by clamps 5 to an axle 2 and connected at their ends to a vehicle frame or body, rotation of the axle 2 about its longitudinal axis 3 is controlled by a torsion bar 2 mounted on a frame cross-member for rotation about an axis 11 extending longitudinally of the vehicle and bent at the ends to form arms 13 which are connected by links 14 to projections 16 on opposite sides of the axle. Two torsion bars located one in the region of each spring 4 may be used instead of the single, centrally located torsion bar shown.
