Abstract

1444639 Delivering and feeding sheets RICOH K K 24 Oct 1973 [25 Oct 1972] 49469/73 Heading B8R [Also in Division F2] A sheet is fed from a facsimile recording apparatus 20, Fig. 3, to a developing apparatus 40 by two pairs of feed rollers 1, 2 and 5, 6 rotating at the speeds of the respective apparatus 20, 40, the pair 5, 6 rotating faster than the pair 1, 2. The rollers 1, 2 rotate continuously, while the rollers 5, 6 are initially stationary and are driven through a friction clutch comprising a drum 16, Fig. 4. In operation, when the leading end of a sheet has almost reached the rollers 5, 6, it engages a rod 10a to close a switch 10 to momentarily energize a solenoid 41 and allow the drum 16 and thereby the roller 12 to be rotated through a small angle so as to grip the leading end of the sheet and stop. Continued rotation of the rollers 1, 2 causes the sheet to form a loop 3a which, when it reaches a predetermined size, actuates a switch 44 to energize the solenoid and allow the roller 12 to be rotated until the trailing end of the sheet releases the rod 10a to stop the drum 16. Alternatively, the rollers 1, 2 are driven intermittently by a stepping motor, the driving pulses to which are counted by a counter which causes the momentary energization of the solenoid 41 when a predetermined number of pulses have been counted.
