Abstract

1444444 Treating exhaust gases NISSAN MOTOR CO Ltd 2 Oct 1973 [6 Oct 1972] 46025/73 Heading B1F Exhaust gases from an I.C. engine flow through cylindrical casing 20 which forms part of an exhaust system 10. The casing is divided into a chamber 24 containing an absorbent 40 to preclean the exhaust gases before they enter and poison the catalyst chamber 22. The chamber 22 may be divided as shown and the chamber 24 may be separated from the chamber 22 and placed in the engine compartment. Catalysts and absorbents are specified.
