Abstract

1444132 Bases for beds and chairs BEKAERT SANV 3 Sept 1973 [11 Sept 1972] 41345/73 Heading A4M A base for beds, chairs or the like comprises a frame with opposed sides 1 and ends 2 and a plurality of bands 3 extending between the sides 1, the bands 3 being upwardly convex and each band 3 incorporating reinforcing wires or bars 4 loosely disposed in sleeves in the longitudinal edges of the band and optionally intermediate the edges. The bands 3 may be of extruded plastics. The free ends 5 of the wires 4 are received in resilient supports 6 mounted on the frame sides 1. Each band 3 may comprise two sections disposed end to end with their wires 4 clamped within a connecting member 7.
