1443973 Separating gases with selective absorbents BOC INTERNATIONAL Ltd 22 Oct 1974 [30 Oct 1973 50384/73 Addition to 1437344 Heading B1L A preferentially absonbable component is recovered from a gas mixture in a system which comprises at least three beds of selective absorbent each of which alternatively undergoes a cycle of gas feed, purge with enriched gas and evacuation of desired component such that at any instant all three stages are in progress, depleted or waste gas being withdrawn from the bed undergoing the purge wherein before the end of the purge step withdrawal of waste gas is stopped from the bed being purged with enriched gas and simultaneously begun from the bed receiving feed gas. Recovery of nitrogen from air is described.
