1443950 Acylamido-penam-carboxylic acids and their derivatives GLAXO LABORATORIES Ltd 8 Oct 1973 [25 Oct 1972] 49256/72 Addition to 1399087 Heading C2C [Also in Division A5] The invention comprises 6#-acylamido-2,2- dimethylpenam-3α-carboxylic acids and non- toxic derivatives thereof wherein the 6#- acrylamido group is 2-phenoxyimino-2-(fur-2- yl)acetamido; 2-phenoxyimino-2-(thien-2-yl) acetamido; 2 - phenoxyimino - 2 - phenylacetamido; 2 - cyclopentyloxyimino - 2 - (fur- 2 - yl)acetamido; 2 - cyclopentyloxyimino - 2- (thien - 2 - yl)acetamido; 2 - t - butoxyimino - 2- (benzo[b]furan - 2 - yl)acetamido; 2 - methoxyimino - 2 - (N - methylpyrrol - 2 - yl)acetamido; 2 - t - butoxyimino - 2 - (N - methylpyrrol - 2 - yl) acetomido; or 2 - (thien - 2 - ylmethoxyimino)- 2 - (N - methylpyrrol - 2 - yl)acetamido, said compounds existing as syn isomers or as mixtures of such syn isomers and the corresponding anti isomers wherein the syn configuration predominates. They are made by acylating 6#-aminopenicillanic acid with the appropriate agent. Cyclopentyloxyamine HCl and N-cyclopentyloxyphthalimide are also prepared.
