1443665 Conveyer belts J J POERINK 25 April 1974 [25 April 1973] 18242/74 Heading B8A A conveyer belt is formed from strips 1 whose transverse portions 3 are bent to have a V- shaped cross-section of which the apices are adjacent transverse rods 2 which extend through elongated holes 6 formed in longitudinal portions 4 of the strips 1. The bending of the portions 3 is stated to avoid transverse contraction of the belt. Further strengthening of the strips 1 results from bending in V-section at least part of longitudinal portions 4. In the region of the holes 6 the strips remain flat or have surfaces to permit relative movement between the strips. The strips are preferably of steel but may be of plastics.
